Last night I ran into my friend JB Hager (and his delightful wife Erin) at a holiday party. JB is one half of Austin's very popular JB and Sandy Morning Show on Austin's Mix 94.7 radio station.
I have known JB for several years, and always enjoy chatting with him. He is a nice guy who is always willing to help others.
16 years ago he and his co-host launched a charity project with the idea that every child should experience the joy of getting a brand new bike on Christmas morning. What started as a grass roots effort, has continued to grow. To date, more than one million dollars has been raised and more than 10,000 bikes, locks and helmets have been given to children who would otherwise go without. The children who receive these bikes are nominated by Mix 94.7 listeners.
The program is now called Bikes for Kids, and it is fantastic!!!
There are only 8 days left until their annual bike give-away, and they still need to raise more money to ensure they can provide bikes to all those who are nominated and deserving.
This is a wonderful cause, as many of us remember the magic of getting a new bike. Any amount donated will help another child receive an amazing gift.
