I had the chance to be interviewed on television last week (while in Houston) about the power of business relationships and networking. During the past 18 months of the tough economy, people who are succeeding are finding that it is their mutually beneficial connections that are helping them find the victories.
All opportunities come from people... thus networking matters!!!
Enjoy.
Have A Great Day.

ReplyDeleteExcellent stuff. I completely agree with your suggestion to focus on the other person first.
But I also see the value in a good elevator speech. If you do your job right and focus on the other person, there should come a time when the focus shifts back to you. And that's when you do need to clearly and engagingly describe what you do. I have found that the people who intentionally create a good elevator speech do that better than the people who don't.
